Brilliant psych! More than ear can meet!

Did you know that for a music blogger Friday is the most overwhelming (and also the best) day? That’s because A) Spotify’s playlists update on weekend’s threshold and B) it feels like artists and publishers tend to publish stuff on Friday in other channels as well, maybe to get people listen to their stuff after a few weekend beers with their friends?

Anyhow, bands, you got me. There’s so many recent psych discoveries and fresh releases that I just had to share a few. Enjoy and do consider having a few beers with your friends.

Onsegén Ensemble – Stellar
Nine minutes of cinematic progressive psychedelia á la Northern Finland. Stellar moves fluently in so many soundscapes you never know what’s coming next, yet it’s very coherent.

Frankie and the Witch Fingers – Activate
Ever thought what would King Gizzard & Lizard Wizard and Santana sound if they jammed together? Well, think no more.

Arcadian Child – Snakecharm
From Finland and Indiana we go to Cyprus. It’s your classy, reliable, oriental influenced neo-psych with dark edges, if you’re into that kind of stuff. The video is fine, as well.

White Canyon & The 5th Dimension – Bright Colors in The Sky
For the fans of The Black Angels and Brian Jonestown Massacre, this Brazilian band is a sweet treat. Their self titled debut album is just out via Necio Records and it’s really solid. Check it out.
